Massage FAQs

You Have Questions About Getting A Massage & I Have Answers

How often should I get a massage?

The recommendation is once a month for those who use massage as preventative care or to manage stress. However, if you’re recovering from an injury or have chronic pain, weekly sessions may be more desirable to you.

What does a Massage Therapist License mean?

It means that I have met the requirements and taken the exams necessary to practice massage in New York State.

What does a session include?

The session times offered in the packages are the amount of time you will spend on the massage table. However, we will have time before the massage to do a full intake, discuss what it is that you’re looking for in your massage, dressing and undressing time, and time to discuss the session afterwards. So, while you may book a 60 minute massage session, it may take up to 90 minutes or more from the time I walk into the door until I leave.

Do I have to take all my clothes off?

No, you do not, I will ask you to dress down to your comfort level. You can receive an effective massage regardless of how much, or how little, clothing you wear.

Will I be covered during the massage?

Yes. The first lesson taught at Finger Lakes School of Massage is how to effectively drape the client so they are comfortable, yet still able to work the body.

Does insurance cover my massage?

Currently, I do not accept insurance. Cash, check, or credit/debit card only.
